As a Pilot for a Johannesburg based Airline - Safair this is what we do from time to time (every 2 months) Right now I am on a 18 day tour to Monrovia - Liberia, flying a Boeing 727-200 (ZS-NZV) on a United Nations contract, mainly between Roberts Field near Monrovia in Liberia and Kotoka International Airport In Accra Ghana.
During this tour we had plenty of free time to go to the beach, play squash etc. The squash courts are in the middle of town behind a filling station. Two concrete floors and one painted wood , the lights and fans work off a diesel generator . Pretty Primitive but very sociable.
We are 8 crew members and should be back in South Africa on the 21st of November, we are leaving for Accra on Sunday and laying over at the Labadi Beach Hotel until Monday evening.
